The Most Powerful Truck Mounted Steam Cleaning Process that both Deep Cleans and Dries Fast, Guaranteed! Or its Free!

At Squeaky Clean, we offer our primary method of Truck-Mounted Steam Cleaning and we for those that need or request it we offer Dry Cleaning as a secondary method which is more accurately a low moisture cleaning method.

Q) Which one should I use and why?

Truthfully, you should almost always use steam cleaning unless there is a very particular need for a dry-cleaning method. Steam Cleaning is an industry term, but it is more accurately called Hot Water Extraction. Hot Water Extraction (HWE) is the deepest and most restorative method of carpet cleaning. It involves a combination of hot water and cleaning agents being injected into the fibers of a carpet at high pressure and the lifted soil being removed by a powerful vacuum. Both the I.I.C.R.C. (The official association for carpet cleaning) and most of the major carpet manufacturers such as Mohawk, Shaw, and Engineered Floors, LLC not only recommend steam cleaning, but it can also void the warranty to use a different method. It should be noted that Squeaky Clean also offers Dry Carpet Cleaning for those who have a particular need or desire for that process.

Q) When should I clean my carpets?

Obviously, most people are triggered to clean their carpets when visible stains build up or maybe they have an event where family, friends, or co-workers are visiting. While that is an important reason to clean, the reality is that the carpet in your home is the largest air filtration system in the home. Think of it like you are walking and laying on an air filter. I’m sure you know what an air filter can look like when it is time to change it. The dirt, dust, hair, allergens, and bacteria settle down at the base of the carpet fiber. This buildup reduces the life of the carpet, contaminates the air quality, can harbor bacteria that can affect the health of you and your kids, and of course the visibility of stains can affect our desire to have people visit.

Here are a few of the reasons to clean, restore, and regularly maintain the carpet investment in your home:
  1. The carpets will simply wear out soon. Most carpet manufacturers recommend having a professional steam clean the carpets every 12-18 months to maintain the warranty.
  2. The carpet is basically a large air filter. That is why homes with all hardwood floors have a constant layer of dust building up on the floor. There is not a filter to catch and hold it like a carpet. However, that leads to a build up of allergens, dust, and bacteria which can wreak havoc on your health. By following the I.I.C.R.C. standards for carpet cleaning the carpet is fully cleaned both at the base of the carpet fiber and for the visible stains of concern. Dry cleaning is not as effective at cleaning and flushing out the deep buildup of dirt, debris, and allergens.
  3. The longer a carpet goes without removal of stains the better the chance of stains becoming permanent. Over time the stain guard that coats the carpet fiber can wear off through wear and tear. This can cause a spill or stain to not only sit on the fiber but to work itself into the fiber once the stain guard fails. The stain can also be set occasionally by home remedies or the client’s personal efforts to remove the stain.
  4. As the dirt, hair, allergens, dust, and stains build up there can be an odor that permeates the room and can get onto the surrounding environment and furniture. Odor always comes from a source. Most people try to use a masking agent or an odor masking carpet powder (creates more issues long term) to deal with odor. This is a band-aid at best and can complicate the solution to long term removal by adding additional factors.
  5. When someone uses a home machine, a rental machine, hires a company that doesn’t follow I.I.C.R.C. standards, or hires a company who uses the Dry-Cleaning method there is usually a heavy build-up of soapy residue in the carpet. This can cause the carpet to feel crunchy or sticky and most importantly create a rapid re-soiling scenario. The carpet will look ok the day of the clean but get dirty super-fast. As you clean it again more soap residue is left behind. You see the problem. The I.I.C.R.C. recommends using truck-mounted steam cleaning to come in at a minimum after two cleans with the aforementioned methods to simply remove the soil and soapy buildup in the carpet so it performs as intended by the manufacturer. This will actually save you time and money as the carpet stays cleaner longer.

Q) What is Squeaky Clean’s 12 Step Carpet Cleaning Service?

  1. Pre-Inspection- Our technician will walk through your home before the service begins to visually inspect the carpet and clarify the job order. He will identify any problem areas or potentially permanent stains and explain what steps will be taken to restore or improve the area. This is also a great time to ask any questions or voice any particular concerns.
  2. Commercial Pre-Vacuum- Dry soil particulate (dirt) will be thoroughly removed through the use of a commercial style vacuum cleaner. Commercial style vacuum cleaners generally have a beater bar that vibrates and more powerful suction than most residential models. Removing dry soil is one of the most vital steps in any scientific carpet cleaning process.
  3. Furniture Moving- Every cleaning service includes the moving of sofa’s, loveseats, chairs, and smaller furniture or items. Beds, dressers, and heavier pieces will cost extra to move if they can be moved at all. Please let us know ahead of time or during the pre-inspection walk through if you need any heavier pieces moved so we can evaluate.
  4. Pre-Spray Treatment- A pre-conditioning cleaning agent is applied after vacuuming phase to emulsify and break down traffic lane spots as well as general stains and spots. Squeaky Clean uses only professional safe and approved cleaning agents for all cleaning projects. There will not be a “home brew” cheaper alternative used for cleaning with our company.
  5. Pre-Spot As Needed- Difficult and challenging spots and stains are individually treated in this phase specific spot removers designed to target difficult stains.
  6. Pre-Groom/Agitation- If needed, a special rotary brush or scrubbing machine will be used to agitate and loosen soil from heavy traffic lanes and areas of buildup.
  7. Extraction Of Soil With Rinsing Agent- After the pre-cleaning solution has had time to dwell the carpet is thoroughly rinsed using the powerful truck-mounted extraction cleaning system. The additional power of this system helps fully remove the emulsified dirt and soap without over-wetting the carpet or leaving a sticky residue behind.
  8. Neutralizer- Every carpet that we clean is ph. balanced afterwards with a neutral acid rinsing acid to make sure there is no sticky residue left behind. This will also leave the carpet feeling soft and fresh as well.
  9. Post Spot Work- Any spots or stains remaining will be evaluated and given any extra attention to try and get the best results possible. Be sure and have the carpet protection or Scotchgard applied after steam cleaning to ensure the carpet resists future spills and stains.
  10. Post Groom- After all cleaning efforts are completed your carpet is groomed with a professional grooming tool so the pile of the carpet is standing tall when we leave. This allows air to pass through the fibers and speeds up the drying time.
  11. Speed Dry- High velocity air movers are placed on the carpet during and after cleaning to help speed up dry times.
  12. Post Cleaning Inspection- The technician will walk through your home to point out the cleaning results and answer any questions. We want to make sure we have done everything possible to leave your carpet in as great a shape as possible.
